Germany is one of Spain’s main trading partners, being the leading country of origin of Spanish imports and the second most important destination for its exports. Due to its location and importance, Germany is the nucleus of European industry and a highly relevant country in strategic sectors for Spain, such as the automotive and agri-food industries. The Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Germany is located in Frankfurt, the heart of Europe and an important financial hub worldwide, in order to offer its members the necessary contacts to access the German market, an extensive networking network to penetrate and solve queries in the German market, and different supports in the development of Spanish business on German soil.

Opportunities

Germany’s main imports include office equipment, automobiles and components, chemicals and electrical machinery. Recent events such as the war in Ukraine or the pandemic have led the German government to look for alternative suppliers in other countries closer to home. Direct opportunities can be derived from government support for the German economy, such as subsidies and loans for energy efficiency in buildings, increased investment in digital and telecommunications infrastructure and in rail transport and the electric car.
